Multi-Image Visualizations
Multiple datasets can be combined in the same scene to compare images of an object acquired with different imaging modalities or that were recorded at different times.
Multi-image visualizations can be created by simply changing the visibility of your image data in the Data Properties and Settings panel. You should note that objects at the top of the list are displayed over objects that are lower down. To improve visualizations, you can change the opacity of images within a view, as well as apply color ramps.
Dragonfly provides automatic and manual registration to register datasets (Image Registration). You should check registration accuracy prior to image interpretation and adjust the transparency of the layers appropriately.
How to Adjust Opacity and Apply Color Ramps
- Select the required image data in the Data Properties and Settings panel.
- Do one or more of the following to adjust the opacity of the selected image:
- Select a 2D view and then use the Opacity slider in the 2D settings box to adjust the opacity of the selected dataset.
- Select the 3D view and then use the Opacity slider in the 3D settings box to adjust the opacity of the selected dataset.
Note You can also adjust opacity in the Opacity Settings dialog (see Opacity Settings).
- Select a 2D view and then use the Opacity slider in the 2D settings box to adjust the opacity of the selected dataset.
- Do one or more of the following to apply a color ramp to the selected image:
- Select a 2D view and then choose a color ramp in the 2D LUT drop-down menu.
You can also apply an alpha LUT to better visualize multiple datasets in 2D views.
- Select the 3D view and then choose a color ramp in the 3D LUT drop-down menu.
- Select a 2D view and then choose a color ramp in the 2D LUT drop-down menu.
